The Rudder Incident.

On 13 August, the NSRI received a call about a yacht, the Benguela that had lost its steerage off Robben Island, so we went to get her. Here are some snaps from the call, including my maiden operational bollard hitch. The swell was pretty big and the rudderless casualty couldn't hold anything resembling a straight course, but our coxwain, Rudy Fisch, did a sterling job of getting us into port safely. There were no injuries, just some sea-sickness.
